The General Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Laniado Hospital is a special area that cares for patients suffering from life-threatening conditions such as severe breathing problems, shock, or acute surgical problems, or who require close observation after surgery. These patients, who are referred from the Emergency Room, the Operating Room, the Maternity Department and other departments, require ongoing medical treatment and continuous nursing care. The Intensive Care Unit, which is outfitted with breakthrough diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, provides excellence in health care in an atmosphere of compassion and caring. The staff of skilled professionals, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, dietitians, a pharmacist, a social worker and others, work together as a unified, patient-centered system to provide support for the patient and his/her family from the moment of admission and for the duration of the hospitalization.
- Daily updates on a patient’s condition are given by a senior doctor, generally between the hours of 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
- Information may also be obtained from the on-duty nurse.
- The social worker is available to families of patients for assistance and consultation. Her office hours are coordinated through the secretary / head nurse.
Visiting Hours You may visit every day from 11:00 to 13:00 and from 18:00 to 20:00. Saturday Night: Sabbath observant visitors can visit by advance appointment. Patients are allowed two visitors at a time. It is important to communicate with the patient by talking to him/her, touching etc.
There is a comfortable visitors lobby outside the department, opposite the elevators, where you can wait between visiting hours.
Please note: when the door to the unit is closed, a medical procedure is being performed and entry is forbidden.
Important: patience and cooperation by the families will enable the staff to provide the best care to patients.
